RX-93 Days 2/3/following week

So, last weekend I started building my MG RX-93 gundam. I finished building it on Sunday night, but I still have a bit of lining to finish and a lot of lining to clean up.

The groin is die-cast. This was taken after I painted it.

Tiny Amuro!

Comparison between this model's head(MG) and the head of a HG

Before painting

After painting. I think it looks better painted. The head needs to be cleaned up still.

The torso definitely needs some cleaning. I think I should've used a bit more thinner when I was mixing paint.

All put together

A little bit of weathering does a Gundam good

The funnels cause this problem. They're incredibly heavy and since they're only on one side, he leans A LOT. They do look cool, though.

I still have lining to do/clean up, but this is the finished build of the model.
I'll try and finish painting/cleaning up this weekend and hopefully start on my next MG

RX-93 Day 1

So, I got a can of Krylon Clear Finish - Gloss and sprayed all the trees with 2 coats. The drying time with this is between 15 and 20 minutes. It just depends on what temperature it is in the area you're spraying. It was 74 degrees in my apartment. Also, I opted for the low odor version of this spray as I live in an apartment and I don't have any other area to spray other than inside. This is NOT low odor by any means. It also kind of sucks as a spray. It didn't leave a smooth finish on a couple of my parts, so I had to sand and re-gloss.

If you can find this as a base spray don't hesitate to buy it. It's a little pricey, but it works great.

Trees drying

Arms finished

This is the paint I used to paint the skeleton of the model

Leg skeleton finished/painted

Both legs finished with armor. Lining will be done when I am finished with the model

The hoses on the back of the legs I painted as well. I didn't like that they were black.

Gundams?!

Here is the second shipment from www.gundamstoreandmore.com

This is the first shipment I received from www.gundamstoreandmore.com
The smaller Astray red/blue frames are for the girlfriend. These will be her very first build! So, exciting!

My small little work space. I really need to invest in a proper desk and not an old kitchen table.

So far, I'm at 22 Gundam models and 1 model from Gasaraki.

A little background... I started building these Gundam models when I was around 11 or 12 (I'm 24). This doesn't make me a professional or master by any means. I had no idea what these were or how to properly build them when I was younger. Just last year I recently got back in to building these models. As you'll see from above, I just acquired quite a handful of new Gundams to build, so, I'll be updating on that. With the exception of the EX-S, the Jenice Custom and the Ishtar Mk-II (Gasaraki), which were acquired this year, I hadn't purchased a model in at least 10 years. I plan on re-working all of my old models to make them presentable. So, we'll see how that goes.
